Slaney CC Novice League

Post by DavidF »

Received from Liam Ruth, Slaney CC:

Hi Lads,
We’re running our Novice, A4 and U12/14/16 league again this year starting next Wednesday on the Davidstown Circuit. The first event is a TT while the following events will be road races. The TT is one lap (about 4.5miles) while the road races are 4 or maybe 5 laps (about 18 or 22.5miles). The league is great way to get started in racing or to return to racing. Its also ideal for those who want to compete against others in the A4 division. Hopefully most taking part will go on to compete in the summer leagues in Wexford, Gorey & Arklow.

We’d be obliged if you could let your members know the events are on. Keep an eye on our website for more information and any changes

Many thanks,

April 14, 2011

Slaney’s Wendesday league is open to novice (club licence), A4 and U12/14/16 riders from all the clubs in the region and begins next Wednesday, 20th April. First event is a TT on one lap of the Davidstown circuit with first rider off at 7.00pm. The subsequent races will all be handicapped with anyone not competing in the TT starting in the scratch group. To keep the competition fair TT is confined to road bikes only. We’d encourage as many as possible to take part in the league. Its a great way to get used to racing in small groups before going on to the larger groups with A1,2 & 3 riders in the Wexford, SERC & Slipstream leagues.

The course is safe but its essential we have 2 marshalls at the exit onto main road and 2 at the turn onto the finishing straight so if your not riding please offer to help.

I might give some of these a go - anyone else interested?

i'm on for a few of these, would be good to have a few from the club for moral support when we get beat by 55 - 60 year olds (i'm been on a couple of tours with SCC, they have a couple of savage auld lads who would wipe the floor with us!)
