This the charity swim? I think we'll head over if the weather is good. Might need directions though, not being a Wexford person :D

It's 25 euro but all money goes to cystic fibrosis. It's 1.5km fully marked. It's starting at 5 pm so just to be down there i suppose hour before to reg and warm up. Quickest route from Bunclody is Ennniscorthy, Ballymurn, Screen, Curracloe

Guys its great you are out doing good things for good causes, but being on the inside of the whole CF thing I want to point out that this event is raising money for the TLT (Tracie Lawlor Trust) check out their web site http://www.tracielawlortrust.com/research.html .

None of the money raised by this organisation goes to the national body representing CF people in Ireland (Cystic Fibrosis Association of Ireland). In fact if you look its quite difficult to see where the money goes, if you get talking to someone form the TLT I would appreicate if you would ask them. They have raised a couple of hundred of thousands to date, this is a tribute to the hard work they and people like you do, to raise money in these difficult times, but unless the money is used for something tangible then its a wasted opportunity.

Regards

James

Well that was really good, Pat and Ian did a great job a well organized event. The 1.5km set off at one marker swam down parallel with the beach to another marker where we meet the people doing the 750m distance then all swimming back up to the original marker. Great to see a few racing 795 people. Ian has dedicated a lot of his time over the years raising funds for the Tracy Lawlor foundation and it's great to be apart of it. Lots of warm soup and coffee after in the local hotel with the prize giving (no panic boys we collected your medals for you) and i managed to bag a lovely glass vase for first lady! It's going to be an anual event so might be one to mark in for next year.
