Blackwater Sprint Tri Fermoy 28th August
Re: Blackwater Sprint Tri Fermoy 28th August
Well done everyone who took part in the Blackwater Triathlon yesterday. A special well done to Fiona, Ross and Myrddin who completed in their first triathlon. Best moment of the day, Team Bodels crossing the line with big smiles on their faces. I've put some photos on the picasa album

looks like a cracking day everyone- look forward to the race report- well done to all the first timers too!
Re: Blackwater Sprint Tri Fermoy 28th August
Well that was just a mighty day and night.
The competition on the day was hot, but no-one could touch the Big Man from Bolinrush, back to his best form finishing a fantastic 15th overall in a field of over 300. Well done to Martin.
The Don was chasing this time, not helped by a cut toe coming our of T1. Great performance too to finish 31st.
Next up was PJ continuing the fine form shown in winning the club Tri795, the extra swim training paying off. Those fancy new Zoot shoes must have been worth a few seconds aswell .
Barry put in his usual solid performance to comfortably finish in the top 100. According to the results he ran the 6k in 10 mins, nice one Barry!
I managed to squeeze into the top 100 too, much to my delight.
Next up then was Ross, in his triathlon debut. After getting over the shock of the swim he steadied up to put in a great bike and a solid run. He'll be back for more.
Adrian Ryan was just behind Ross with another solid performance, closely followed by Chairman Jim obviously taking it handy ahead of the Lost Sheep .
Johnny D got himself going after a bit of a dodgy swim – no doubt there will be better days ahead for John.
Myrrdin Davies, also in his first triathlon astounded everyone by being in the top 10 out of the water! Fantastic swim by Myrrdin and a decent debut performance all-round.
Big Frank, after his Acts of Contrition at the start put in his usual strong bike and run to finish well. The breakthrough in the swimming is coming, I can feel it!!
Siobhan put in another sterling performance, first 795 lady home. Well done Siobhan.
This time she was chased closely by Ciara and Joy. Ciara continues her amazing improvement, wait til she gets a proper bike !
Joy banished her swim demons, and it looks like the warm weather boot camp paid off after all!
Next in was Orla loving every minute of her first open water triathlon. A bright future ahead for our young starlet.
Ed Burgess was unfortunate to have some zip issues with his wetsuit, but having sorted that out put in a great effort in his first open water tri. Well done Ed..
But the biggest cheer of all was for Team Bodels, James and Fiona finishing together in Fiona's first (and she says last!) triathlon – well done both.
It was fantastic to see so many clubmates out on the day. Special thanks to the support crew of Lorraine, Yvonne, Paula and Mag for cheering us on. Brilliant day out.
I'll leave it to someone else to give the night report.....

Note: Orla is down as a DNF bit this is an error, she finished just behind Joy

Have to say it sounded like a fab weekend...orla came home buzzin...i dont no if it was from that buzz you get from competing or if it was from knocking back shots in the company of james bodels etc in the early hours of the morning...either way thanks a million to all in Racing...i dont know if ye realise what a great club it is..I hope it never loses that "vibe" or that "feel good" feeling when you all get together.....regards niall..

Eventually got around to loading the photo's Mag took onto the computer and then I discover that no one invited me onto the album
Could someone send me an invite please?
asking for an invite to anything is pretty bad I know! But needs must

Re: Blackwater Sprint Tri Fermoy 28th August
Congratulations are in order for our promising starlet Orla, who recieved her Age Group 1st prize in the post today. What a great surprise to get and to think they had wrongly put her down as a dnf. Bet you are laughing all the way to the bank now orla
Re: Blackwater Sprint Tri Fermoy 28th August
Congrats Orla! A great surprise after the disappointment- hope it spurs you on to continue your tri/kayaking career in bonnie Scotland!
