IMRA winter league 2011
Re: IMRA winter league 2011
Going to do it John if I can get away, 50 50 at the mo, going to be nice and sloppy up there! Presume you are?
Re: IMRA winter league 2011
can't wait to get my salomons mucked up, need a bit more base training first
Go on Brian, no bother to you, enjoy the muck

Re: IMRA winter league 2011
Yeah Brian I'm racing alright. Also giving a bit of a helping hand at the registration so say hi if you're queing. They haven't told me exactly what they want me to do yet, but I'm hoping they'll give me a big stick to look after the que jumpers
You should definitely give it a lash Ciara, the crowd tomorrow will be very very relaxed and every shape and size. Really nice bunch with every age and ability, you wouldn't believe the people who turn up for these - cracked in the head. Don't worry about not having the base miles, just turn up and have fun
Hopefully some of ye can make it tomorrow, is going to be grand and mucky anyway by the looks of the weather

well how was it?? must have been blowin up the top?!
Re: IMRA winter league 2011
Great race today Brian, really good course and the weather just made it all the more challenging.BShaugh wrote:well how was it?? must have been blowin up the top?!
The downhills were really sloppy and fast, the wind was howling, in our faces for the first half and at our backs for the return trip.
Was hoping for a finish under the hour so was happy with 56 mins
Flew down the downhills - great craic on a course like today
Struggled on the uphills as usual, lost a few places on the second one
Here's me looking like a little old lady hobbling up the first big climb:

And completely starstruck and a little uncoordinated starting down the final fast descent:

Good man John, fair play. Pure madness going up there in those conditions without a bike though!
Re: IMRA winter league 2011
Brilliant, well done with your time, looks like you really enjoyed it, great craic
Re: IMRA winter league 2011
jayus john they're some photos
first one looks like you're on the way to the ceili
second one looks like you are on the verge of the worlds biggest speed wobble
great result though - well up the field

Thanks David - I think
The guy taking the photos (Mick Hanney) knows Tom & Dena and keeps an eye out for the jersey
Bombing down the hill he roars 'smile for your photo' at me and nearly sent me head over heels looking up to see who it was
Got out of the speed wobble ok anyway
Re: IMRA winter league 2011
