MTB - Biking Blitz Race Series 2014

Ok Folks,

Only three weeks to the first round of the Biking blitz race series, first round is at Ballinastoe on February 2nd. Usual setup of two race categories; Baggy Shorts (1 full lap), Super Pro (2 full laps).
A great way to blow off the winter cobwebs and see where you are at for the coming season. This would be a great chance for any of our newer MTB members to get a taste of XC racing, with the recent trips to Ballinastoe you will have a good heads up. Its a very well run series, a good social event to meet other MTB'ers and have a laugh etc

Haha, I am back on the bike alright although the action is limited, good stuff, try and make Ballyhoura also!

Cool I.v heard about the Blitz from a few guys . What kind of distance we lookin at ? Is it just a group realised a d you push and fight yer way thru ? Its just I wouldn't be the quickest and don't want to be in the way or constantly pulling in .

You should definitely do it. Don't worry about holding people up, You get the odd gobshite trying to bully past but 99% are decent. Just start with the Baggy Shorts category, there will be loads of people just like you getting started at racing and having the craic.

Same as David said Nigel, it's one full lap for the baggy shorts category which you have already done, be no bother to ye. There is the climbing at the start which spreads the field out nicely before the first trail anyway. 99% of racers are always polite,if you get anyone giving guff simply kick them into the bushes as they pass
