Moxie Adventure Race Sunday the 10th July

Post by NMcCord »

Still on a high here after last Sundays Blackstairs Adventure race . So I. V decided to do this one along with David Tully . It's €75 for entry which gets you a Cycling Jersey and medal and a food voucher . I'll add a link later . We will be doing the Expert one of 60k . Only big difference compared to the 7 Steps is a 5k kayak. It's based in Blessinton Co Wicklow so an easy drive . Please post here if interested. We had a huge number of club members last Sunday it would be great to do it again .

Sorry Tully but for that Smack talk you deserve this.

Now that was some run . 14k of ferns ..bog ...swamps .. trails ....rocks ....jumps ...stone paths with steap climbs and wicked drops ..then a few k on the road and down thru someone's back garden thru the farm and on to the beach for 2k where you tackled sand and stones and quicksand and running thru water to the Kayak. .. made the second run of the 7Steps look easy !!!! Great event all the same . I think you can guess by the photo who won  .

What's that you're leaning yer beer on lad? ;)
Great run by Nigel made the difference in the end.
The fast kayak and Nigels big ring only separated us on paper by seconds for the kayak leg and both bike legs.
A well run event and worth a look at, though don't be fooled by thinking running the Gibbet will prepare you - look to the mountains for trail running practice.

Best photo ever. Looking at the weather last Sun I have no regrets for giving it a miss. Good on both of you.
