Pain was the order of the day Frank. I had a cold most of last week and it caught up with me on Fri/Sat. However I had a good time overall, 2:27:44. Had an excellent swim on 23:06 (albeit a little shorter than normal @ 1350/1400 metres). Within 1km on the bike (shiney new tt bike that is) I knew my legs were not up to it, I posted a 1:17 for 42km but resulted in a lot of stress and then finished with an even more stressfull 10km run, but again managed to pull a good time at 46:02. My transition times were superb at 51 & 46 seconds respectully. I never felt worse during and after a race than this one but by pure dog ignorance got a very respecful time. Conor Murphy won in seriously hot time of 1:56.

Good stuff Don, sound like brute force and ignorance was the order of the day - lots of RnR for this week me thinks!

Great night last night- John in his shiny new wetsuit, Myrrdin for his first dip in Racing795 waters, Ed looking to beat his previous pb, Ciara trying to get a pb and me having no tech issues ;) .On the journey up to Bray we all kept ourselves amused by talk of losing legs by sharks, pig droppings (what goes on tour stays on tour) and Rocky motivational theme tunes- in Ed's bus.
I think all were happy with the event- Ciara despite the fact that she got stung at the first buoy by a jellyfish :( and like a true triathlete didn't let it hinder her- John improving by 6/7 mins on his previous swim time alone- due to increased training and some to equipment no doubt, Myrrdin hooked and ready to put it all into practice in Fermoy, Ed ready to continue his improving form, and me with no technical issues, except that technically I need to train more ;)
This is a recommended series for next year, they're nearby, challenging, good training and a nice atmosphere and in the sea(a bonus apart from the lurking predators).
