Rudolf was the sole 795'er at the Epic Blast yesterday - one of Irelands biggest mtb events. Apparently it p***ed down all day turning the course into a mudfest, but our man sliddered his way through it to claim 3rd place in his final, standing on the podium beside Katy Curd, who just happens to be the current British 4X champion!
Here's some photo's to give you an idea of the mud:

Fair play to you Rudolf, looks like the Blast was the place to be for the craic. You're lucky you missed DF's Sunday Spin - 4 hours of pure punishment.

- It obviously wasn't that tough if they had time to stop and take photos

Super MTB event. the whole day was great and everything was rideble. some sloppy/muddy fast decending the uphils where painfull in the mud shifting through the gears was nearly impossible with all the mud on the drive train. the buzz on top of the hill was unreal. Big bikes, hardtails, DH bikes all pointed down towards the little gap into the rooty forest. brakes off and hang on!! some small and big jumps on the way drops, timber brigdges, roots, holes, and loads of riders around to race against. In bits today and the mud is still around, its everywhere. next year we need a few more boddies at the start of the blast its great fun.
