Summer League 2011
Summer League 2011
Well folks
The evenings are getting longer, it can only mean Summer League time. This year it will consist of 4 events and will be a team league. Everyone declaring an interest will be randomly divided into teams of 3. The result of each event will be an average of team members time(slowest time just as important as fastest), with position points awarded and the best team after the 4 events declared grand champion . DF will be doing the scoring so it will be suitably complicated (there is no point disputing or questioning). Only 2 team members competing in any of the events is acceptable but every team member must compete in a minumim of 2 events. Marshals will be kept to a minimum basically time keeping probably eight, two per round so at least one member from each team must marshal at least one event.
Round 1 “The King of the Hill” (cycle) - Wednesday 15th June
Starting in Bunclody in a group start proceeding to Kildavin, Myshal & Corabut , finishing line at the top. We then regroup and roll back to bunclody.
Round 2 “The Deadly Drumderry” (run) – Wednesday 29th June
A 10km road run starting in Bunclody
Round 3 “The running fish” (aquathon) – Monday 11th July
750m swim in Bunclody pool followed by the 5km run from the TRI795
Round 4 “The mini mini WAR” (cycle/trail run/cycle) – Wednesday 27th July
Starting in Kildavin GAA cycling to Beaufield with a 5km trail run followed by a cycle back to Kildavin
Of course if you are unsure about making all the events people are more than welcome to come along to one or two rounds, plus its open to non members if you would like to invite someone.
Please declare you interest here or contact me so I can complie a list and pick the teams.
So get training

Re: Summer League 2011
Good man Barry, nice looking collection of races there
Throw my name in there as well please, that King of the Hill will be an experience anyway (bonus points for the mast? ) Same night as the first Bray aquathon but sure can't have everything either, and I'd prefer the spin up Corrabut
