Waterford Adventure race

Had a great day yesterday “competing” in the WAR in the company of Jim Furlong and James Bodels (I was a last minute replacement for James B, ex Iron man, and serious shit competitor). I saw Jim F on four separate occasions throughout the day, once at the start when his ass disappeared into a mass of elite runners, once as I hauled my sorry self up the rain swept Vee, i met Jim bounding down like a mountain goat shouting words of encouragement “not far to go, Niall” (this turned out to be a blatant lie), and third on the final jog in, Jim was on his way out pumping gears on the way to the finish line 10k away...again a shout of keep it going not far to go (another lie)....... And finally both lads waiting very very patiently at the finish line to cheer me home.It was a great, great day and a wonderful feeling crossing the finish line.....
As for James B, Photographer, (some very un dignified photos taken). Marshall (he did more marshalling and support work then the organisers) bike mechanic, first aid, and sports psychologist...”that’s the sixth time that those weight watchers passed you niall”.......Still I would have been still lost without him. xxx

Ash, by the time I crossed the line, the boys would have had time to brew their own champ's...And Joy, no problem entering tri795....if I'm allowed wear armbands in the pool
