Signed up for the Olympic too, haven't done it before but from all accounts it's not as bad as some suggest. Can of coke afterwards will sort out any problems

I haven't given them permission to use the UCD Boathouse grounds yet, so if you want I can refuse and it'll become a much nicer duathlon ;)

Considering doing this but seriously wonder about swimming in the Liffey. Very little on boards about this. Anyone speak to those who did it last year?

I've talked to a lot of guys on this as I had the same concerns, and everyone seems to say the same thing, 'that it's not as bad as the rumours'. It was the National Championships last year and over 1,000 people did the Olympic and Sprint Races so it can't be too bad. The swim has the currents to deal with but the bike and run is flat, so after your performance on Wed night and in KK, it could be another PB. I think Frank has got the hook on the Olympic :D

Good man Frank, should be a good race. Last year it went off at 9am, they usually go off early and there's usually 5-6 waves. After that I can't tell you anymore
