I've entered this, bit concerned about that run into the sea to start. Maybe a nice stroll for me

Aside from Hook or by Crook, I would put this up there as the best triathlon I have done.
Very well organised, great location, lovely bike and run course.
And of course that running start from the beach.....elbows out Lorraine

Well done to all today in Clogherhead, the race was changed to a duathlon, obviously because of the strong winds. PJ took the honours with a serious time of 1:04:42 and a superb 42nd overall in a very strong field and got the best Club Bike Split Honours as well. Well done also to Brian, Frank and Lorraine with very good results too. Results here:

Very enjoyable tri today eventhough swim was cancelled - we could see white horses shortly after leaving Drogheda once we got sight of the sea. Well organised tri and great location - would definitely do this again (with less wind preferably!). Lorraine competed well and i was happy enough, but the Shaughs and PJ had a battle royal. Only problem was they were in different waves. Shaughs did a great 2.5k - half of which was into the teeth of the wind. Pj put in a savage bike and actually beat Shaughs in the second run. Great performance by Shaughs, but PJ went to the hurt locker today to post his best performance of the season - me thinks! Shaughs to follow with detailed race report. Lookin forward to next year when the two boys sign up for the same tri's and submit same swim times to ensure they compete in the same wave!!

Jayus Frank I'm nearly in tears here reading that
I think it was a good call to change to a duathlon although we all would have gotten into sea
Well done Brian Frank and Lorraine on what was a very windy/sometimes very exposed course
Have to say I taught I was in trouble( from Brian biting my ass) when it changed to a duathlon
Really delighted I broke the 20 mins for 5 km(5km??)
Now for the off season.........
