Da Cooley Thriller

Post by Rudolf »

MTB All Mountain Marathon 50km.

Lynn,Damian and myself rode the Cooley marathon today. More then 200 people signed up. riding in different classes from Elite to Sport half lap.The weather was amazing with full on sunshine and dry trails. Robin Seymour won and set a new record 2.41 or so, not sure but results will be put up later. I had a bad start starting halfway down the field trying to get up near the front I got caught in the goober train going down the single track. still managed to get near the front at the end of the race. left right and centre there were people stopped with cramp not be able to get on the bike for 5 or 10 minutes. Some of the climbs were long and steep. The down hill open mountain single track continued on and on with great views of the bay which was great but only finding yourselfs looking at yet another hill to climb up. The organisation was spot on feed stops ,pasta after and hot showers.
