Rosslare 10km

Post by BShaugh »

Rosslare 10km organised by Wexford Tri is on Bank holiday Monday.
This is a really good fast 10km course and a lot of PBs have been set on it.
Anyone doing it?

Thanks Boyos

Good day out, weather wasn't as bad as expecting, rain killed the wind. 300 plus competitors it was a nice fundraiser for Wexford Tri club on such a soggy day.
Happy to just about break into the 38 minute bracket but 24 seconds slower than last year and there is a lot of running in 24 seconds! Ex Irish international Peter Matthews claimed first with Tom a very good second (marathing training doesn't appear to be affecting his pace), comfortable enough for the first 5km, got in behind
a big lump of a fella for the long windy drag up the main road in the second half of the race. Pretty much emptied the tank in the last couple of kms. Hope to edge into the 37 minute bracket by year end for the 10km, funny how hard it is to knock 5 second/km off your time as you edge closer to your personal limits but you've got to have a target I suppose! Nice 2 * 5km loops with nothing on it to stop you dead, definitly a help to know the course I think. Thanks Dena for the shouts of encouragement along the way.

Taghmon 10km is on the 7th of May and Ballycarney is the 11th May for anyone eyeing up a race.
