Great report Niall,
point taken on the jacket very optimistic on my part
and how yourself and Liam do this thing every year ? hardcore!
I have a few more bit to add to the "lessons learned"
1 after 7-8 hours in the wind and rain dont bother stopping to check if the wobble in your front wheel is buckled, its your arms shaking!
2 Always stash a mini can of coke in your saddle bag with the spare tube. When you get a puncture 40km from home and sit down ready to cry wondering how you can change a tube with numb fingers, that little red can OH BABY what a find !!

You know it's bad when a little can of Coke means so much.

Great report Niall. I almost feel guilty for going back to bed on Sunday when I saw the weather

Look on the bright side, at least you're not the guy who broke 3 vertebrae on the descent of SM :o
