Hill Runs
Re: Hill Runs
I think tom is talking about Tuesday next week I'll see how the mtb race goes on Sunday
Re: Hill Runs
I'm going to head up to the mountain tomorrow night around 5.30 - 6.00. But am flexible so if others want to go at a different time just let me know.
For those of you that are a little sceptical about running up a mountain making you a better and stronger triathlete. Have a look at the pic of the current European and World champion hurtling down a Yorkshire fell. The same fells that he returns to each winter to build up his strength and fitness for the coming tri season.
A great nights training last week. A couple more weeks of this and the lads will come to relish the hillier tri courses. As for being the master I'm not so sure about that, after being pushed all the way to the top by Ross, both he and Barry managed to find quicker routes from the summit, with Barry taking an as the crow flies approach to great effect.DavidF wrote:now that we have heard from the student, can we hear from the master please

Re: Hill Runs

Starts at 12. I seriously doubt you'll be last. Mens over 70 was only won in 111.29 last year, I fancy you to beat thatBarryB wrote:what time is it at Dena, I might be tempted up there to fill the paddy last position

Tom/Dena
Lets say on the off chance that someone was considering turning up for the Mt Leinster race (hypothetically of course!!) what time would they need to get there at to register and all that
I had a look at the IMRA website and they rate this as 9/10 for difficulty so only a complete ludramán would consider doing it as their first mountain race
Thanks
John

Re: Hill Runs
don't mind that 9/10 that's just to make us mountain running people look good! To score the mountain runs they have to look at lots of things like if the course is marked, some courses would not be marked and you would need map and compass, some wouldn't be marked but a main path would guild you (sat) the terrain, steepness, downhill distance are all involved so it might not be as bad as your imaging. I'v yet to meet someone that only does one. There is no doubt about it, it does sort the men from the boys but its great satisfaction.
We will see you there about 11.15/11.30!!!
