Proposed event in Bunclody Swimming Pool

Gillian Markey from Bunclody Swimming Pool was in touch with me last week looking for some advice and asking if there would be interest from our members in an event they are thinking about running as a fundraiser for the pool.

The event:

1500m swim
Winning cup/shield for fastest man/woman/junior man/junior woman
Provisional date Sunday 20th June, morning
Entry fee 10euro or possibly a sponsorship card with higher entry fee as they are trying to raise funds for the pool

The format would be somewhat similar to a tri pool swim, but with 2 swimmers per lane.
Start at 9:30 am and assuming 60 competitors running until 1

Gillian really wants to know:
If there would be interest from our members (particularly the triathletes), not only in our club but surrounding clubs
If the format is ok
Is the entry fee ok

Please give your opinion here so I can give Gillian some feedback

Maybe not an out and out TT but offer some alternatives eg different strokes or a relay event.
