Removing Pedals from Bike

This can be a tough task. Here is a simplified way particularly for pedals that havent been removed in a while!!

wd40 sprayed onto both pedals - leave for awhile to work.

Support yourself by having bike near a wall or railing.

Sit on the bike and clip into pedal (use your leg as a resistance anchor) on the right (chain side)

Bring pedal to 10 o'clock and using a 15 spanner on the pedal on your right pull the spanner towards you. You are trying to turn pedal anti-clockwise.

Similar for left side pull spanner towards you - turning the pedal clockwise.

Is is not (as you look at the pedal from the side) right pedal turn pedal spanner anticlockwise to loosen; left pedal clockwise? ( or is that what you are saying  - not sure).

You are both saying the same thing. Another way to think of it is , always tighten pedals forward (ie in direction of wheel rotation) and loosen backwards. Works for both sides.
