That is actually an interesting point- why are most wetsuits black?-
is there a scientific/speed/cheaper to manufacture/to impersonate a seal reason for it?
Maybe the answer is here, I nodded off halfway through paragraph 1. Let me know if you ever find out.

Fascinating :geek: - and there's more...
' most say it was Jack O'Neill and his brother Robert who invented the wetsuit'
What can I say- it runs in the family??

By the way it says they're not just black now, so no real reason for it.......

joy, just reading this post now, so sorry bout delay- david will tell you how super my first wetsuit was last may when i joined forces with the wednesday morning swimmers! the lads had a good oul laugh when they saw me coming! so i only have that to compare with - i got an orca wetsuit through wiggle for about a hundred quid- nothin near what a lot of the rest of you have paid, but my thinking, is it all depends on how seriously your taking it with regard to times etc. you could pay a coupla hundred quid more for all sorts of fancy ones that make you faster (????????) but i gotta say the orca does the job for me and is comfy and light. One thing to make sure though is that you've plenty of movement in the shoulders- i tried on a few in cyclesuperstore last year and there is a difference between suits around the shoulders.
