I had a call from John Byrne of Tullow Mountaineering Club
They are running an "Introduction to Navigation and Map reading" course over the last 2 Fridays in February from 8pm to 10:30pm in Redmonds Bunclody.
There will be no charge for the course but a collection will be held for Mountain Rescue each evening - sugggested donation €10-€20

Paddy Looney is running two nights and two follow up day sessions on the topic of map reading and navigaton. The venue is Redmond's, Main Street, Bunclody on Friday 17th and Friday 24th February from 8pm to 10.30pm on both nights. The day sessions start at Currabutt Gap car park at 1.30pm to 4.30pm on both Saturday 18th and Saturday 25th February. You are advised to bring a silva 4 compass and a sheet 68 Discovery map.
