Mtb Sunday 16th September

Post by DavidC »

Leaving lower car park at 9am. Route tbc, handy enough pace as we might have a couple of new lads out.
I'll be cycling up from Bunclody leaving swimming pool around 8:30 if anyone wants to join me for the warm up.

Great craic today with the Magnificent Seven despite the grim weather
Barry's leaky tube left him unusually quiet on the subject of tubeless tyres, new boy Dean was well up to the pace, and Jimmy Five Bellies will soon be back to one belly. BrianH had his ipod robbed during the week but on the plus side, with one less gadget to faff with he managed to be ready for the spin on time. On the other hand BrianM was ready in no time cos he forgot all his stuff!
Surprise of the day was a brief guest appearance by the bionic man testing out his new heel. Great to see Rudolf making progress, look forward to hearing his pearls of MTB wisdom on future spins
e.g.
"It's supposed to be hard, it's mountain biking."
or my favourite
"It's not stupid, it's just steep."

Great to be out again on a spin and see everybody this morning. Managed to get to the windmills no bother and was tempted to go further but had decided before the spin to stop at the top and go back. It be a a little while before i be hopping roots and worry about tire and shock pressure to pin the corners. Any way its a start. Next challenge is the single track in the lower wood (yes the under 10 course  ). See ya the next time
