Ballinastoe 27/01/13 Canceled due to icy conditions
Re: Ballinastoe 27/01/13
I'm in but I'm on call so it I might have to drop out but I'll keep you posted
Re: Ballinastoe 27/01/13
I want to get two laps done so I plan to be on my bike at 8.30, if anyone else feels like joining me?
Re: Ballinastoe 27/01/13
Wel you be guarenteed parking at that time. I like to join you but not sure yet. Just a note to anybody who will do this spin. Parking can be a issue around Ballinastoe. With the charity bike ride and it beeing a Sunday the carpark can be full quickly. If you cant get parking head back into Roundwood and park there. its only a 15min bike ride from the town to the trail. Looks like there will be people joining from a lot of the mtb clubs in the country so it will be nice and social. Brian M i will let you know tomorrow if i do 2 laps.
For anybody who hasnt ridden the Ballinastoe trails. It is rocky in places so make sure to have your tires a bit harder than normal. The trail takes between 1 hr to 2hrs depending on speed. Watch out on the boardwalks they are slippy as hell!!.
Let it rip on the decents they are deadly!!
We will all meet at the Trail head/Biking.ie hut at 9.45
See you there

Unfortunatly this charity ride is canceled due to icy conditions.

We know everyone has cabin fever at this stage and we really appreciate the massive interest in the ride this year but I'm afraid we have to postpone tomorrows Charity Mountain Bike Ride due to the snow. We will announce a new date shorty.
The now hasn't thawed out as we all hoped it would so in the interest of safety we've had to make the tough call. If there was an accident out on the hill we just couldn't respond in an appropriate time. In fact low temperatures over night have frozen the whole place solid again. You'd probably have more success on a snowboard than a bike and would encourage people to stay away from Ballinastoe tomorrow.
We really appreciate your support for the Charity Mountain Bike Ride, hang on to your donation and we'll be back with a bang shortly.
Barry has posted a spin for this date aswel (Tomorrow). I would like to organize a away spin and Ballinastoe was perfect in these sloppy conditions. Better next time when the conditions are a bit better. It either be the Charity ride or we just go to Ballinastoe for a spin.
