Bad news lads...

MTB Rendezvous 23rd September
Re: MTB Rendezvous 23rd September
thats a balls... I may not be around this weekend im afraid, will let you know asap
Re: MTB Rendezvous 23rd September
This is rediculous!! Im sure if it had said walking rendevous there was no problem. Looks like were treated like the Palestinians in Israel. Stay behind the fence and no gathering of groups. What damage do we cause? None I think. I,m very disapointed. Hope the organizers dont loose there motivation to try again for a similair event.
Re: MTB Rendezvous 23rd September
Crazy. Just re-inforces the point that this stupid bye-law which effectively makes cycling in every Coillte forest illegal has to be challenged.
If people want to get animated about this (which they are on Facebook etc..) then there needs to be focus, and challenging that bye law should be it.

Re: MTB Rendezvous 23rd September
Yes, it's all about the byelaw, a blunt instrument which is routinely invoked by coillte in conjunction with the threat of permit withdrawal - http://www.offroadcyclingireland.ie/wor ... nt-notice/
All it does is antagonise and alienate the very people coillte should be looking to work with to ensure the good conduct of all bikers on coillte lands. If the current situation continues I think clubs will inevitably decline to engage with Coillte.

Re: MTB Rendezvous 23rd September
Was looking forward to this - overkill when the organisers weren't even organising a single spin or recommending a route.
This was an organised social gathering, not on Coillte land, yet they felt they needed to pull out the bye-laws again..
