Wicklow Mountain Post Christmas run

How's it going lads?
So, I signed up for this Art O'Neill Challenge thing with my Galway house-mate. It's a 55k run starting at Dublin Castle at midnight on Jan 11th and following the roads down to the wicklow mountains for about 25k, then off road for the last 30k.
It might be a bit of a mental thing but sure, that's life.

Anyway, I'm planning to do a recce on Thursday 27th and was wondering if any of the R795ers fancy a bit of a christmas run/hike? I've already done a recce for the off-road section but the route has changed slightly since so I want to go again and looking for accomplices if anyone fancies burning off the pudding.
If anyone's interested, there's a few options I'm considering (depending on whether I'm on my own or get any takers...
- ~30k: The full 30k off road section (with a car parked at the start and finish). This took about 5 hours the last time, but should be a bit quicker now, knowing the route a bit better. I'd say we ran about 12-15k of it (runs where possible sprinkled between hiked sections)
- ~20k: The last section from the Wicklow-gap road to the finish (near Glenmalure) and doubling back to the car. I'd say this would take 4 hours (but be prepared for 5)
- ~10k: The last section from the Wicklow-gap road to the finish (with a car parked at the start and the finish). This should be a 2-hour hike with a 3 or 4k jog at the end and manageable
The distances aren't exact and it's tough enough terrain but it's probably more of a fast hike than a run... I'm more interested in learning the route and getting used to the terrain than speed so I'm just putting it out there if anyone's interested!!
