The Mother of all Night Spins

Right folks, i've been looking up at the old transmitter and thinking that while the weather is still reasonably good we should take the opportunity to do a night spin up over the top of Mt Leinster. Having discussed it with some of the grandfathers/godfathers/newfathers of Racing795, here's the plan:

Meet at the top car park, spin up to the 9 stones, transmitter, across the top, down into Ballycrystal then to the Halfway for a pint ;) might require some logisitcs to collect cars etc...

Now this is weather dependent, looking at the forecast there's some rain due but nothing major. Ideally we want a clear night like last night or tonight. So I am saying we will try for Tues, Weds or Thurs night next week, leaving 7-7.30ish, with preference for Weds night. We can get a conditions report from those crazy mountain running dudes on Saturday

We'll aim to decide on Monday. Keep and eye for updates.

And if you want some inspiration, picture this at night:

the requierd logic is to cycle back to the car. it will be race back to the top carpark. the pint will ease the pain

Come now Barry the mud is all part of the fun, so what if we need a rudder instead of handle bars  , sideways mountain biking at high speed is the only way to go, i'm still up for it (even though the climb is gonna totaly destroy me first  )

the general consensus seems to be that we're going to have to leave this one for a while as the conditions up there are just not good enough to get across the top without having to carry your bike for long sections.

so we'll leave it til an appropriate time, weather wise
