Re: mtb Sunday 3rd july
Missed this also but planning on going for a spin this evening if anyone is about
Re: mtb Sunday 3rd july
Well there might have been only three of us, but what a spin. Here is a pictorial version:
So off we set at 8:30, me from my house, the lads from Ballypierce. I waited at the top of the firebreak, this was the view that greeted me on a beautiful sunny morning
Then the lads arrived after gunning it up from Ballypierce.
Barry managed to attract all the flies of Mt Leinster (those little black dots to his left) so it was a quick squart of DEET and off we went
Up then to Croghaun, down Pete where we were accosted by the Hunggry Hairy Goats, down selection box and over to the 9stones. Up to the top of Slieve Bawn, where DC was on top of the world
as was Barry when he eventually caught up
The bikes had a rest too
We headed down cross coutry then, hopped a few fences and walls
And nearly lost DC in a fern jungle, those ferns can grow up to 5 ft tall you know
Now the boys nearly broke my spirit on Friday nights spin, but i knew that the Heinous Climb of the Two Gates would get them. Here's Barry at gate No.2
The views are spectacular as we grind our way up
But the going only gets really tough after the second gate, so by the time we got to the top a little lie down is needed
But then the little red can appears, everyone bursts back to life amidst calls of 'isn't life great' 'i'd hate to be at home in bed' 'who says the weather is $hite' and so on
after that my phone started to malfunction, so no more pics, only memories
fantastic spin, thanks to the two lads
