2016 Training Plan

Post by frankb »

OK Folks, It’s the start of a new year and the following is an outline of what’s planned in the club for the next few months.

Watch out for separate forum posts on:
1. Club brick session (involve demo’s by members skilled in this area)
2. Injury Prevention Presentation and Weights/exercises demo
3. MTB skills development day in Ballinastoe
4. Racing 795 Club Duathlon
5. Racing 795 MTB Spring League

Overview of weekly activities (check forum for updates each week on these events).

We would ask that you sign up on forum if hoping to attend any club events so those running/leading events/road spins can plan based on numbers.
Let’s liven up the forum a little :D

Monday: Bunclody golf club running at 8pm (head torch required)
Tuesday: Waterfront Enniscorthy Coached Swimming at 7am
Wednesday: MTB night-time spin usually at 7.30pm
Thursday: Interval running under lights in Bunclody GAA at 8pm (no head torch required)
Friday: Spinning in Waterfront Enniscorthy 8pm
Swimming in Mt. Wolseley 8pm
Saturday: Road spin 9am from square in Bunclody
Sunday: MTB mountain spin from Glanbia (Coop) Bunclody/Ballypierce/Lower Car Park (LCP) at 9am
Road\Cx spin 9am from Kildavin GAA club

Club website updated to reflect the above so just point possible new members to http://racing795.com/clubinfo/trainingactivities/#

Calendar of events for Q1 of 2016
Below is a list of events that we are suggesting that club members might like to take part in, however these are also added along with club training events (see above) to the club calendar on our website so you can point non-members to this as well as checking it out yourself
http://racing795.com/calendar/

Also here is a google doc with the different events. Why not add your name to the events you entend to do, so others in the club can see who’s doing what and it might entice them to join you. It would be great to get a large group of members going to a few events, as it adds to the enjoyment and it what being in a tri/mtb club is all about.

We are still trying to source a comprehensive list of mtb, swim, bike, road race and run events and will add into document when available.

Great work there by all involved in compiling and organising the above. I've updated the event list which of course is dependent on remaining injury free and obtaining the necessary entry's.

That looks great Frank! Just to be pedantic though :-) On the list on the forum post 'Blackstairs Challenge' is down as April 16th...the website says May 1st http://www.blackstairsadventurerace.com/
and the Blackstairs challenge doesn't appear on the excel list - unless I've gone mad :-)

For anybody that may be interested, registration for the Caroline Kearney in Westmeath is opening Friday evening through the following link http://www.midlandtri.ie/#!registration/i36f7

by all accounts it's a good race and highly recommended by some club members.
