Club Duathlon 2016 April 3rd ****postponed****
This year our Club training duathlon will take place Sunday morning 3rd April, starting at 10am registration from 9am at Kildavin Gaa. Format will be 3km run 22km bike and 3km run to finish.
There will be no charge, but as with previous years we will ask for a five euro donation to cover tea coffee buns biscuits etc. We will have limited marshals but we will be able to have time keepers who will give as accurate race times as possible.
This as always is a perfect opportunity for anyone new to the sport to experience everything associated with race day, transition bike racks changeovers etc, in a super relaxed environment, so feel free to grab someone you know would like to try it and rope them in. This year we also want to focus more on the underage development so we will have an event for underage athletes in 2 formats, secondary school kids will have a road spin, and primary school children will have a duathlon race in the field,
We are limited by the amount of non triathlon Ireland members allowed take part as guests so if you're not a triathlon Ireland member please contact us to ensure you have a place. We are not as limited on Triathlon Ireland members, Just to be clear as this is just training any triathlon ireland membership will suffice full, associate or student.
Cycle race route: https://www.endomondo.com/routes/481379623 run route is a simple 3km out and back.
hope to see you all there.

If the adult race starts at 10 what time does the primary school kids race start at? Also do they all have to race together or what age brackets are they broken down into? Also does each child get a medal or is it just 1st,2nd & 3rd? Plus what's the distance please?
Re: Club Duathlon 2016 April 3rd
Hi Kathryn the kids races will be going on while the adult race is underway, whether or not we break the younger kids into age groups will depend on numbers, won't really be important as it will just be a bit of fun. As there will be no charge we did not envisage any medals again just for fun and an introduction to the sport. Distances will be in line with triathlon Ireland guidelines I'll dig them out later and post them.
