I've had this idea for a while, but never got around to setting it up, but with the help of D Tully we're going to have a crack at it in January - prob Sunday 8th...might even do a few if there's interest

Here's what we have in mind:

• It's a pairs competition - the pair being an mtber and a runner
  Start finish at the Upper Car Park, KilbranishC
  10 mins before the start, everyone gets a map, with 10 locations marked on at various points around the forest
  At each location there will be tokens to be collected worth different amounts of points, depending on how easy/difficult the location is to access
  It will be up to the pair to decide who goes where
  Whistle goes, everyone starts together
  You're finished when the last pair member has returned to the start
  We add up your points depending on how many tokens you've collected as a pair
  There will be a time limit - if you're over it on return you get docked points
  Winner is the pair with most points...simples

The pairs will be picked by me an Tully on the day
Duration is likely to be around 2hrs

As you can imagine, there;s a fair bit of work setting this up - so for now we just want to know who's interested - so please post saying if you will bike or run..

This is an ideal way to get everyone together after Christmas, blow away some cobwebs and have a bit of crack!

We would LOVE to do that...I'll be lost in about 2 minutes...
Can't do it on the 8th though Carlow x-country on same day which I have committed to doing...

ha! sure you'd have a map, how could you get lost

date is fluid..as nidge points out there's the ferrycarrig running yoke on the 8th...so may move to the 15th - although there's a duathlon in Naas that day...hard to avoid the clashes unfortunately

I'm in can do either the run or mtb Rebecca would like to do either aswell

any of the triathlon/road biking/running crew got any interest in this?

Can't do the 8th either. Might catch the next one.
