Hi Jarlath
You can take my name off group 4 and add in David Furlong.
Might be time to review these groups though..

DF - Don has the wheel - give him a shout.

Regards
David

Powertap Wheels

Post by Jarlath »

Hi all,

As most of you are aware, the club have 4 x Powertap G3 wheels for club members to use. They are excellent pieces of equipment and allow for bike training based on Watt's (power) as opposed to heart rate or perceived effort.

For those that haven't used them before, your bike will require a ten speed set up, as the wheels are supplied with a ten speed cassette. They can be used in conjunction with training software such as Zwift, etc (search for a post from about a year ago from club member David Tully for details) and are used with a garmin or wahoo or similar bike computer to provide power data as you cycle.

Its been two years since the groups were last revised and I am sure due to varying levels of usage some may or may not be interested in continuing to use the wheel, while newer club members are now being given the opportunity to express an interest.

In this regard, I am now canvassing all members to determine who is interested in using the wheels and I ask all (including those who had previous use of the wheels) to advise of their interest. This will allow for the formulation of groups where the wheels are shared based on previously advised Racing 795 committee rules (as set out at page 1 of this discussion thread).

It would be appreciated if members could post their interest on the forum, please.

Regards

Jarlath
