Club Championship 2019

Hi all
Following on from suggestions at the agm changes have been made to the champs.
The aim remains the same with inclusion/participation of all members the goal. Every member at the start of 2019 will have a chance of winning the much coveted Martin Mimnagh cup. If you’re somebody who doesn’t swim or maybe you don’t run no problem there are 14 events in total with something for everyone.Fitness levels are irrelevant.
Hopefully these improvements will see the cup within reach of a lot more members and therefore create some excitement during the year.
The events will run from January to October,with a break during the summer to allow for holidays.

January 27th Sunday Duathlon 3km/20km/3km
February 24th SundayDuathlon 3km/20km/3km
March 24th SundayDuathlon 3km/20km/3km
April 24th WednesdayRoad Bike Race 25km

How to qualify
· Compete in at least 6 out of the 14 club events
· Marshal at least 1 club event
· Compete in at least 2 non club organized events. These can be from a local 5km run to national series event in swimming biking or running, singly or in any combination, you decide. Only stipulation for these non club events is that there is a prize for the male/female winners! Eg Parkruns are excluded
How to score
· Participation points = 25 points for everyclub event you do
= 25 points for non club events to maxof 5 events
· No need for PB’s this year, will use 2018 times
· All club events you finish will score this year.
· All other scoring remains the same as 2018
