bike lights
Re: bike lights
Okay lads - lets see who has the biggest!!! Right who's for a "light"spin - some mtber pick a night that ye all can make it an the goobers can come along an judge who has the best light an then judge best value light also. Are ye up for it?
Re: bike lights
Now Frank are you acting the bollix or are you actually going to get that rusty mtb out of the shed? I'm up for it anyway, the next dry Wednesday. We have enough lumens for everyone at this stage.
Re: bike lights
Sorry lads didnt see the responses hence no reply from me.
Interested to feel how heavy yoyr light is David C, the main use id give it would be running but a bit of mtb biking also if weather is bad over winter.
Can you bring it tonight to meeting?
Thanks

Re: bike lights
Frank we had the brightest MTB spin I've ever been on last week - three of those 3xT6's, 4 x 1xT6 spots and a hope light - amongst 4 of us Daylight!
PJ - I'd say the lights might be a bit heavy for more than a 5km run, though BrainY's weighs in pretty light.
I went with John's recommendation (thanks John!) and ordered a Silva from Amazon, though a different one (Silva Trail Runner Plus - http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B003 ... UTF8&psc=1) with separate battery pack for endurance. Price has jumped on it from last week from 35 to 48 stg though.

Re: bike lights
Those cheapo chinky yokes are too heavy for running
If you want something to do both then get this:
http://www.ayup-lights.com/
or this
http://gemini-lights.com/
And don't you chinky fan club boys give me the old "they're 5 times the price"
You get what you pay for
I've had ayups for 5 years, there still isn;t a more powerful, yet light enough for running light out there. And there's no pricking around trying to waterproof them with duct-tape. Ok I paid €250 - but not a cent since. Add up the amount the boys spend every year cos there's a new super duper chinky yoke out there...
the gemini light is also great
Oh and Frank, my light is the smallest but gives out the best light ....

Re: bike lights
Can't comment on the ay-ups but the gemini look like a branded version of the of the lights the rest of us have.and the new double i got is on 94 grams + what ever mount you use.
