IMRA season 2015
IMRA season 2015
For some unknownst reason I really wanted to drag myself up and fall back down a mountain this weekend so off I set for IMRA Ticknock.
Met Padraig Doyle (very hairy now, has really got into this whole mountain running thing I reckon!!).
I managed to miss a turn off after halfway and along with probably 40 other people added over 800m to our race, don't think it cost me a podium but sure I guess I'll never know
A really enjoyable run in the freezing Dublin mountains, and perfectly organised like you'd expect from IMRA.
Padraig had a great race, didn't miss the turn, got a great result for himself.
The next two are a bit closer to home Trooperstown (Laragh) in 2 weeks, and Annacurragh (near Tinahely / Aughrim) 2 weeks after.
You never know, I might make a few more this year.

Second best value races around (after our own Duathlon of course Barry!)

Good stuff John
I'm going to endeavour to make one of these this year, now I have said this in previous years maybe this year the planets will align.

Well done John Boy, would love to get to a few imra runs this year, no better racing full stop
I see little Sliabh but just outside Ferns is the 28th of March. Great little race and handy for all

Will "most likely" race Trooperstown this Sunday
It's near Laragh so not too far if anyone wants to join me?

Re: IMRA season 2015
When I said I was going I had forgotten Martin's anniversary mass was on.
Went to Kilrush Sunday instead.

Annacurra this weekend if you fancy pulling the legs off yourself!
Re: IMRA season 2015
I'm headed for Ballybraid (LC) tomorrow and then Carrauntoohill (IC) on 30th May.
The Leinster Championship and Irish Championship races require a degree of navigation, but a bit of homework before hand and a few bearings noted means anyone should be able make their way safely round with a compass.
Finding your way to the top is easy but the most important part is knowing what direction to take descending the mountain (only one top but countless bottoms).
The Leinster League races on a Wednesday evening are ideal for beginners and require zero navigation.
Give them a go
