Tri Athy 2011

Post by johnd »

Surely its never too early to start thinking about triathlons :D

Anyone thinking of doing Tri Athy this year?

I'm planning on making an attempt at the Olympic distance this year and this seems like a nice 'easy' one to get started with
Early bird is sold out, does the race itself tend to sell out does anyone know?

As far as I know it didn't sell out the last couple of years.
But tri's getting more popular.
Don't see any decrease in cost overall thus yr :x
Can't do it this year tho

John, I'm signed in for this. It's a very good and well run event. Definitely a very good race for your first Olympic, pretty flat and fast. So far I'm looking at this event North Tipp Sprint and the Joey Hannon Olympic, haven't decided after that which events to do. They have 2,500 slots available to sell, the sprint will be the first to sell out (if it does at all) but it's unlightly and the the Olympic will probably not sell out.

Cheers Don
Will sign up alright, am also looking at the North Tipp Sprint as a season opener
Don't fancy the look of the Joey Hannon though - 1,500m in a pool  I'd never hack it

Starting waves have been announced and myself, Ruari & Adrian are all in the same wave - the trash talking is well and truly underway!!
This will be close, and it's probably gonna hurt, but this will be the real race for 795 glory on the day (Don doesn't count ;) )
Bring it on lads
