Hi (mtb'ers)
Trying to convert my Crossrides to tubeless with Stans rim strips.
Cannot get either the Maxxis Ignitors (2.35 or 2.1) to inflate. Tried leaving in the factory rim strip under the Stans rim strip as well as removing it and replacing it with Stans yellow rim strip.
Any ideas?

Re: tubeless conversion
Are you using rim tape first (yellow) and then the rim strip? You need to use both. Just the yellow tape won't work on non tubeless runs. Also are u using a compressor? Won't work with a track pump.
In my experience some rim/tyre combos just won't convert no matter what. You may have this situation. I have found maxxis hit and miss.
I have done the ghetto and rim strips thing - my advice - if u can't inflate easily then it probably wont work.
Save yourself hassle and buy a set of tubeless wheels.

Thanks for the reply - yes tried it with the yellow tape as well as leaving in the original rim tape under the rim strip.
Think you're right. I've hit a combination that might not work easily.

Re: tubeless conversion
Non tubles tires can be difficult to seal on the rim. proper UST tyres will seal with a track pump. you can try this. Have your rim ready for tubles set up. take outt the tubless valve and put in a inner tube. put the tyre on the rim. Inflate the tyre 4 bar. you should hear the tyre popping on the rim. Now carfully take one side of the tyre of the rim so you can remove the inner tube. make sure one side stays on the rim. put back in your tubless valve. put gue in the tyre and back on the rim spin like mad then find a compresor and the tyre should pop on the rim.
