Meeting DC at his house to collect the Trance. No excuses tomorrow (besides Trance being a lot heavier than Xcontrol, level playing field now, no more Strava records). Will be trying to avoid the dubious honour of achieving another section named after me. In truth chuffed to have Hennessy's Gap christened. Another section could mean serious bodily injury though.

Relieved to hear you are leaving that orange yoke at home.
Chances of having more singletrack named after you through misfortune are much diminished.

And so it was... until quite literally the last metre of singletrack.DavidF wrote:Chances of having more singletrack named after you through misfortune are much diminished.
Not since Lucifer was cast down has there been such a spectacular fall from Paradise. Instead of the usual clean roll out at the exit, Brian and his bike seemed to take flight in a sideways direction. Dropping from a height, the landing could best be described as a thud, only slightly cushioned by a pile of briars. Not sure which was torn worse, Brian's leggings or his face . Fair play to him though, he was a bit winded but up and laughing at himself in no time.
I now officially open the competition for the best new name for the exit from Paradise. I'll start the ball rolling with "Hennessy's Landing" as I can't get it out of my head. Great spin, well done all.

Hennessy's Chin flop. Great spin thanks all for holding up for me.
Re: MTB Sunday 13th Jan
great spin, plenty climbing, sorry i had to leave early but on the upside DF supplied me with a nice new personalised mudguard for the race bike. I will have to give Brian a few lessons in the art of dismounting. Cheers DC

Paradise Lost but Paradise Regained by going back up and doing the roll down again. Routine drop down can't explain besides lack of concentration and getting ready to open my big mouth. 'Hennessy's torn new trousers' is my name for it! Waiting 3 months for them and tear them after 2 spins!
Ribs feeling it a bit now. Great spin.
Back on the weapon next time so 'Chances of having more singletrack named after me through misfortune are much diminished'. Still can't legislate my 'rudimentary bike skills".
Loving it. Roll on the next time.

Where do I start?
Having just lifted myself from the couch after being in a state of torpor for the afternoon, I concur in saying that was a fine spin. You know its tough when Barry is taking shortcuts and Ross is bailing out early.
That climb from the bottom of Monsoon is as bad as any around. All the more reason to get to work on Lil' Djouce.
Hennessy continues to provide the talking points, this time an amazing full body launch through the air. Luckily he picked a nice soft spot to come back to earth
Great to see BrainY back on the back, flying down the singletrack as usual
Now we just need a few Kevins or Richards to go with all the Brians and Davids
Anyways great crowd out and good craic as usual
Congrats to the spin leader for keeping up last weeks theme of contrariness and togetherness "Where the f*** are they gone now"
