Ok folks

Weather looks ok for Sunday, so this is going ahead

DTully and I have worked out the course. Format will be slightly different than originally planned to accomodate people who may not now their way around that well

So:

Start and finish Upper car Park @10am sharp
Still a pairs event - one biker/one runner per team
Mass start - everyone going in the same direction
Runners will have an approx 15k course
Bikers approx 20k
You will have to visit and photograph approx 8 locations in order - so make sure you can carry your phone
The pair with the fastest aggregate time wins

We'll put up the course maps with the points later/tomorrow so you can study them

I think this will be a bit of craic!

Here's the run route! 15.5km with 417m climbing.
It's all fire road or road, unless you want to take a detour.

Points have to be visited in order. Bring a phone and take a pic of each of these in order:

Car park to:
1. windmills gate, then
2. Power lines across fire road below windmills
3. lower car park barrier
4. Kilbrannish National School
5. Cottage Ruin
6. White Rock
7. Barrier at Tin Can Alley
8. Cattle Grid
9. Corrabut Car Park
10. UCP wind turbine in car park

There will be time penalties for missing or out of order pictures.

Mapmyrun is here, if you want to download a GPX. Might not be bang on, as it's not following tarmac roads.
There are no location markers on mapmyrun, just km distance markers - ignore them.

And here's the bike route:

https://www.strava.com/activities/853615325

There are 7 places along the route that you must visit in order and take a photo:

Fence at top of Dirty Firebreak
"The Rock" in Black Dog
Tullys Gully
Cottage Ruin in Kellys Quarter
The standing stump on 4 million stix
The standing stump on 88 roots
The jump on the top section of "Les Gets"

There are photos on the strava link above

You can also see the route here with the photos geotagged in the right places (they're not on the Strava) - https://www.relive.cc/view/853659753

How you get from point to point is your own business! so study the route ;)
