Cycling Ireland Membership

Post by DavidT »

Hey.
Just confirmed with Cycling Ireland - the 'non-competition' license is now an 'Introductory license' and is €10 instead of €20.
DT: I've a query on the Introductory license - will this cover me for racing, once I pay the race day fee per race?

CI: It is a non-competition licence so you would have to get an additional one day race licence to compete – on top of the race fee. If you are only doing a couple of races this makes sense, but not if you are doing more than 10 races.

That's not quite the case. The introductory licence is only for people joining CI for the first time, so you are effectively just getting the non competition licence at a discounted rate for the first year. For everyone else the non-competiton licence is the basic entry level licence. In your case David you will pay €10 this year but it will be €20 next year and subsequent years

And just to clarify - you don;t need to be a member of CI to race - you can turn up at any race and pay a one day licence
