I'll have a spot if I could do one of the earlier legs.

That's great Mike. We have seven so, anyone else interested?

Entries open on Monday so we need the relevant information before Monday if possible.

We have a team of eight, Adrian is doing a leg.Has anyone any preference as to what leg they would like to do.

So the team is:
Orla
Joy
Tracy
Mike
Ross
Fintan
Peter
Adrian

I know Mike wants to do one of the earlier legs.

Please post if you have a preferred leg for the relay.

That's fantastic news Tracy - great!

Here's a quick summary of the legs
Leg 1 14.4 km 556m
Leg 2 15.1 km 759m
Leg 3 8.0 km 126m
Leg 4 9.6 km 363m
Leg 5 13.6 km 571m
Leg 6 12.7 km 566m
Leg 7 21.2 km 651m
Leg 8 10.0 km 283m

I would suggest that you put your strongest runners on legs 1, 2 & 7
Leg 7 is the longest and at half marathon distance is probably best suited to someone who has just completed a whole heap of marathon specific training, someone like Tracy or Fintan perhaps?
There is a lot of climbing on leg 2 so would be best suited to a lean, light footed runner - we had billy goat Shaughs for this last year and he ran a stormer
Leg 1 is the first leg and it would be important moral wise for the rest of the day to have the team set up in a good position after this leg - it'll give the rest of the team targets to catch and stay ahead of
After that, legs 3, 4 & 8 are probably the least difficult (and leg 3 is the most picturesque of them all according to Joy :) )
They're only less difficult in comparison to the rest, it's still a tough run on any of them

It's going to be a great day for you all, hopefully the weather is good too

First things first though you need a captain - I nominate Tracy if she is willing
You've put a good bit of work into it so far Tracy - what do you reckon?

Great to see such a strong team coming together for this. And Tracy will be a great captain! Good luck all

Leg 2 is beautiful run. Down along a river and then up by powerscourt waterfall. Who ever takes it feel free to give me a shout about it. Needs to be recce'd
