Well done everyone, and bad luck Tracy.

I don't know a lot about running but 2:28 looks like a super time for a marathon. According to my research, up until 1935 it would have been a world record

Great running lads, two PBs and sweet to break the 2.30 mark tom. Good running on the 10km Dena.
Hard luck Tracey, gutted for you, you put in such great training and a massive effort. Hope you enjoy the trip at least. Sure you have a great year ahead after a bit of a break

Very sorry to hear Tracey, I know you had a lot of miles done for this. I hope the leg injury didn't effect the pub crawl though. Another unreal run by Tom with a 2.28 time, which when you break it down speek/kilometre is hard to comprehend really. Well done Fintan as well, very very close to the big 3 hour barrier. Didn't hear Dena's time but with the early season form, it was probably a good one. Enjoy the few days off...

Great running there folks, sounds like it was a tough day in the heat

Jaysus Tracy, really gutted for you
I've been there and had major disappointment at Waterford last year, it's not one bit nice or easy after all that training
It's hard to know what to do seeing as you have all the great training in your legs, but the marathon just requires so much commitment that maybe you're as well off to put it out of your head for a while, and reap all the benefit of your training over shorter distances?
There are pb's for you to smash right now from 5k up to half marathon - why not do that?
You could always go for the marathon again in the future
Up to you but there's nothing easy about trying to motivate yourself to go train for another one straight away after a disappointment like that
I tried to train for Longford 8 weeks after Waterford and just ended up getting sick and run down - abandoned it after a few weeks

Hopefully the injury isn't too serious
