Redeemed myself today. Heinous climb much better this week. Will be buzzing for weeks after this. Taking your advice re road bike and Jim's re running. Haven't run for 25 years, maybe time to start again. First up new runners. Ta for planning the ride, it was out of this world! As you said beats cycling around the trails on my own with me sounds! :D

Savage spin there, thanks to DF for putting that on. Thanks also to Ross for the quick lead home meaning I got to enjoy that brilliant grassy descent to mullaun

Well much n'all as i'd like to take the credit is was actually DC's idea.

Here's the story of the spin
So as the lads set off at 8am I was waiting patiently at the top of the lane, sunblock applied, 3 bottles of drink, 3 energy bars this is the view I had

Eventually the boys appeared over the hill minus a certain DC who it seemed had an alarm clock malfunction due to one two many Heinekens at Deano's bbq :o
We picked up Ross a bit further along, then up through Mullaun and across Foleys Folly. Not before I managed to to fall off me bike in the middle of the fireroad. Damn that last bottle of Heino
Down to the road then and the first mishap of the day, Tully gets stung in the eye :( memories of WW 2011 and Jims stung head and amidst the calls for the coke, up steps Dr Hennessy to take control of the situation. Here he is telling Tully to take a good swig out of his Camelbak

Anyway Tully lived and on we went. Conway appeared at the start of the Babies Heads looking non the worse for wear. On then with Hennessy moving so fast he managed to disengage the Gopro
Over and along the heather then where i was subjected to abuse having been this weeks victim of the hole-in-the-heather-pedalling-in-thin-air gag
Around to the Heinous Climb, I got left with the gate closing duties so had ample opportunity for photography

As always at the top of Heinous we had a little lie down and a bit of relaxation. Some of course taking the relaxation a bit more serious than other..

Then it was up into the unknown. First a nice Sheep Trail, rideable most of the way

Gaining height quick, we had an amazing passage through this boulder field

Then the going got a bit tougher, ride a bit, walk a bit, but the views were spectacular

Now at this point Ross declared that we could all have hopped on a plane to anywhere in Europe and not had as fine a spin as this. No-one disagreed

From there to the summit was mostly walking, but following a trail, so not so bad.

The down the familiar descent, and what a descent it is

Then we all made our way home, Tully and DC, then me and Barry and the old timers on for an extra hours hardship before calling it a day. McElwee had gone the supersonic route with Ross

Well now what can I say. Hennessy hit the nail on the head, you can have all the scenery you want but it's the company that makes a great spin. And this was one of the greatest, thanks lads.

No photos to add. Too busy trying to breathe when I reach the stops! Shame about the mount because I could have got lovely footage. Anyway, check this out. Work in progress.
