Not yet .. Road bike next .... then after a year on the Flats and the Skills and Experience , a new MTB

Balinastoe is a great place to test both types of bikes with out the worries of damaging a Mates bike . And its cheap . Rent 4 and only pay for 3 ... cool or what !!

Get yourself a pair of spd pedals for Christmas!
You'll climb like you've never climbed.

Stay on Flats for a while. You will learn how to bunny hop, jump and descent like a God. Technical climbing on Flats is another skill to master. Spd,s are great but get your skillz sorted first.

Epic Day .

-2 on the clock this morning as the 4 of us headed off this morning , we headed for Naas as we thought road would be a little safer . Road was lethal most of the way . Morning cleared to glorious sunshine. , Got there at 10 to a packed carpark , all the lads out with there new Xmas Toys . We picked up our rentals , 4 full suspension Treks , guy asked me would I like to try there new 2 week old 29r ....... I took it with great delight . We done our loop and put the Bikes to the Test , on and off the track for a few of us unfortunately :D , a few occasions of tree hugging and pulling FirBushs out of certain parts of the body .
All I can say is the picnic bars and road work Keith has done as worked , as he led all the trails today blitzin us , maybe the different bike and the fact his brother Leigh ( who hasn't been on the mountain bike since he left for OZ 3 months ago ) was pushing him on . Our newbe Tadgh who's only done road work before loved every bit of it , and even returned with the customery scratches and scrapes and bruises .
Over all fantastic day out and just have to highly recommend Biking.ie in Balinstoe as a great place to test the different types of bikes , Hard tails , Full Suspension , 29rs and now 3 new Trek 650Bs , gorgeous looking things , definitely me and Keith's next rental on our next spin up there .

And yes David I have been checking out the bikes on line etc ......

Hey Nigel,

Sound like a good day on the bike. Ballinastoe is always good fun especially in the winter when other trails are sloppy. The are some other trails around there that were used for the Blast http://vimeo.com/6599888 and enduro http://vimeo.com/72208759 races. they be worth checking out. I was hoping to make your spin but my car got broken into at the airport and the f***ers stole the battery so I wasn't going anywhere.

Any way keep the shredding up and I can show you some deadly trails around Ballinastoe.

Sounds like a great day out Nigel, that's good news as I would like to try out a 650b up there when I am back on the bike again.

Ill second what Rudolf said, the last day we were up there and you lads were cycling, when I was walking about with Kody (RIP) I spotted loads of cool looking trail entrances I never noticed before.

That is some Sh1t to come back from holidays to Rudolf.. Was it late at night?
