Great reports from Bill and Dena. Ironman is a cruel mistress and like david said months of training can seem to count for nothing on the day. Maybe we should skip the training and just suffer on the day

Just getting around to reading these now and I'm inspired. I've talked to many Ironmen and women over the years and everyone seems to have a tale of woe on the big day. No one can prepare the body for that onslaught. Still can't get my head around it though...

An ironman when everything goes well just still has to be unbelievably tough but when it goes wrong like that floooock! To finish in the face of all that is just a super achievement
