Watt Bike Test and Training Tips

Proposed Schedule below for Watt Bike Test and Training Tips

Day 1

When: Saturday January 10th

Where: Kildavin GAA Centre - Meeting Room Upstairs for both morning and afternoon session

9.00am - 2pm - morning session


Watt bike Testing - 15 mins per rider. Estimated 20 riders with total testing duration of 5hrs.
Bring along your HR strap and associated HR device.

Afternoon Session - 3-5pm Group General discussion and Q & A.

Nutrition
Training
Recovery/Massage/Stretching
Bike position
Testing
Racing
Strength & Conditioning

It is advisable that you bring a notepad and pen.

Day 2

Sunday January 11th

Where: Meet at the Whitemills Carpark

When: 9am - 1pm Group identification and structuring.

Suggest route is over and back on this safe stretch of road - https://www.endomondo.com/routes/449373306

Plan is to have on the bike discussion & instruction as Jonathon intends to cycle with each of the groups. Each group will have Jonathan with them for three of the 9 loops. If someone needs to bail out for a loop they can sit out at Whitemills and rejoin their group, when ready.

Day 3

Saturday March 21 (provisional date but retesting will go ahead regardless of date selected)

Where: Kildavin GAA Centre - Meeting Room Upstairs

9.00am - 2pm

Watt bike Testing - 15 mins per rider. Estimated 20 riders with total testing duration of 5hrs which includes a debriefing post results.

Costs - €20 per cyclist (to cover all three days). Please sign up below to book your place asap.

Money to be given to Nigel by by January 2nd. Link to Questionnaire to follow on this post to aid in Jonathan's assessments.

Bill, the guy we have employed is bringing the watt bike with him and will set up in a room in Kildavin GAA. We will have a retest after a few months, once you put some of the training that Jonathan recommends, so we hope this interests you and many others.

To this end, here is a questionnaire that will help inform Jonathan and also force us all to evaluate the time we spend vs time we intend to spend on biking next year. So hopefully all of us will spend some time planning our 2015 training, over the next few weeks and we would hope that many of you will sign up for this training weekend.
