Tyre advice

Jaysus my head hurts
I've been looking around wiggle, crc & pbk trying to find a decent tyre to buy for my road bike
I also had a look at the cycling forum on boards.ie

I'm way more confused now than when I started!!

Has anyone any advice on a decent tyre I should get for my bike? There's a small bulge in one of them at the moment so need to buy one any way, and sure might as well get a decent one when I'm at it (maybe two, could put an old one back on the rear if Santy brings a turbo )
The tyres on it at the moment are 700 x 23c if that helps

The two that seem to come recommended from the people on boards are the Continental GP 4000s or the Schwalbe Ultremo

Any advice ye might have would be great

Save yourself some money - Tom Hogan probably has a tyre the he doesnt need from last weekend in carrick

never had a puncture with them - used them in the Ironman last year for that reason

I wouldn't go below 23mm - there's no reason to and especially if you are doing long spins better to have slightly bigger volume for comfort. Only difference between wire and folding is weight - folding being lighter

Hi John i have Schwalbe lugano on the Dolan, there cheap but never given any problems about 1,oookm on them.

And i have Vittoria open corsa evo cx on the tt bike,3,ooo km on them and ive only had one puncture.(thats a kiss of death i know!!)

I use Mitchellin Lithion 2 on both sets of wheels and have never had a puncture with them. Good price as well and come in lots of different colours.

Decided to go with the Continental GP 4000s afterall
Ordered on www.merlincycles.co.uk Thursday afternoon, arrived today (Monday)
Got them cheap enough (compared to other websites) at €65 delivered, seems like they've gone up in price today
Hopefully won't be falling off anytime soon
