Cycling thresholds and training zones(HR and power)

Post by frankb »

We have contacted Lyn Hayden in relation to this ergometer testing. Please post here if this is something you would like to take part in and we will look at dates that suit all concerned.

The following is what he sent us back:

Cyclus2 ergometer and testing protocol is used by Bakala Academy and was formulated
Prof. Peter Hespel. As you'll see from the link you use your own bike with no adjustments needed!

http://www.cyclus2.com/en/ergometer-training.htm

The incremental test starts at 100W(males)/ 70W(females) and increases every 8 minutes by 40W until exhaustion. Cadence is personally set and should be maintained through test. Lactate samples will taken from the earlobe every 4 and 8 minute to determine the lactate curve. From this, both thresholds and training zones(HR and power) will be established. Most recreational riders finish under the hour, no warm up needed and a single test at a time.

Pricing: Baseline test = €100
Retest = €80
Discount rates will apply for groups from 10 upwards.
