Dungarvan 10 mile road race 30th Jan 2011
Dungarvan 10 mile road race 30th Jan 2011
Time to start cranking up the distances again
I did this race last year and can honestly say that I felt a bit guilty afterwards like I had underpaid them and somehow robbed West Waterford AC or something!!
And it's going to be worse this year cos they've dropped the price by a fiver - €15 if you sign up before 17th December
It's a really fast course, very well organised, includes a nice technical Nike running top and they stuff you full of hot food and cake afterwards in the local sports hall (hot showers too). I could not recommend it highly enough. I think Aisling and Jim did it last year too?

Grand one to open up the lungs in the new year

This is a great race. Got a PB here a couple of years ago.
This is part of a series of 10 mile races along with Mallow on Jan 9th http://www.mallowac.ie/ and Ballycotton on March 6th http://www.ballycottonrunning.com/ and Kilnaboy (I can't find a date for this yet but its probable April 10th).
Mallow is supposed to open for reg today but it's not up yet. This is also a lovely course and well run - well worth considering.
I intend on doing Mallow, Dungarvan and Ballycotton but I've also registered for the Conemmara Marathon which is on the same day as Kilnaboy.
Anybody intending on running in Ballycotton should be aware that it sells out very quickly with only postal entries accepted. Athletics Ireland members are guaranteed entry.
