TRAILBUILDING SAT 26/02

Post by Rudolf »

Hello All,

As you know the 20th of March the 795 XC race is on. The main race loop is ready and the extension of the race course is rideble. plenty of wheels have been on the new section so its bedded in nicely.

There are a few tricky spots where there could be a pile-up of riders. In order to make the course a bit more flowy one morning of raking and doing some bench cutting should sort out that problem.

I,ll be there around 9.30 to do some work on the single track. If you can give me a hand that would be great and it will finnish the course in a few hours.
Tools needed - steel rake
- spade
- cutters for gorse or brambles

Lower Carpark 9.30
Thanks
Rudolf

Hello,

This is going to be the best xc race course of the season. You can say that you were part of the building crew that made this course deadly. All the hard work is done it just needs a few tweeks. It can be done in a few hours all we need is a few more bodies with a shovel and rake.

So just a reminder that the trail building is on this Saterday from 9.30

Mtb trials dont just apear. They are build from scrath and maintained by people who like riding there mtb on single track and not just boring fireroad. So if you like riding you mtb on single track please give us a hand finnishing this deady course.

See You There

Got the new section finnished. still some work to do any one who want to do some trail building before the race starts now is the time. evening are getting longer so if your on the bike one evening take a spade or rake with you.

The following bits need sorting.
- new entrance into critical mass needs to be a made bit wider and there is a low hanging branch that need to be cut off.
- Lower wood, there is a holly tree hanging over the trail
- entrance into paradice . the deep rut needs to be filled in. ( standing at entrance use soil on left dont touch the bit one the right) also you can bring a bucket and fill it up with sand or clay and fill in the rutt.

If these bits are sorted asap we can then concentrate on riding the whole loop on the wednesday training spins.
any help will be apreciated.

Good list Rudolf. I would also suggest the whole lap needs to be walked and generally tidied up. Bring a loppers to snip untidy briers and branches and kick aside any loose sticks and stones. I'll be giving a couple of hours to it on the 5th after the litter pick up. The more the merrier
