Well that was a cracker of a race.

we had the $hite talk in the car on the way up, then we went for a practice lap and faced THE bombhole of certain death, then spent an hour and a half thinking about it. And the slidderry roots and the nasty climbs....

then the gun went, the red mist descended again and off we went in the balmy summer sunshine

a fantastically enjoyable course, hats off to the IMBRC lads.

Rudolf led the way again with a crackin 6th in s2's

Ross was 16th in s3, DC 20th, me 31st, Brian 48th, Tully 51st

The crowd and the cowbells at the bombhole were the business. i thought i was in the olympics :D

Well done to all , great to see a sizeable 795 contingent out

heres the results: http://dl.dropbox.com/u/40769/MTB%20rac ... S_Rnd7.pdf

Two days later only now able to write a reply. still in bits. that was a great track penty of technical features. the uphill section after the bomhole was a painfull experience but managed to stay on the bike. plenty of wet roots in all the single track. best part was the second bomhole after the first one. coming out of this there was a left turn. if you didnt apply the brakes going uphill you were lauched into this offcamber left turn and hoping to find grip somewhere. great stuff!!

More XC racing to come. cant wait for " The Rock". Also the race in Castlewellan one of the best xc racing courses in the country.
