Wexford Cross Country 18th December

Post by BShaugh »

The senior cross country is on in Ferns 18th December, (8 or 10km can't remember) it's on good ground by all accounts, local race and prob 3 euro entry, good chance
for anyone doing Dungarvan to stretch the legs pre Christmas. We're a Athletics Ireland registered club so here's the chance to get some value out of it!

Well done to all today. Didn't get to see many of you after race as I was freezing so headed for the shower. How did you's find it? I taught the ground held up pretty good considering all the foot fall. Going to Bill Murphy's later all welcome. Hope to see you's there.

Tom walked away with it. The three boys ran great, they were all fairly fooked at the end! That's tough that xc! tommy mcelwaine was walking around puking 10 mins after the race!

John and Martin had a ding dong battle, John edged it at the end. Shocks was slightly ahead of them. Well done to all. here's the three amigos, i've more pics which i will upload later. What is it with Shocks and these dodgy hats :D

Well done lads, great stuff.

Loads of lads out on MTBs today too. Got me thinking, DF has this great idea in his head, some kind of MTB/Running team orienteering race. We'll have to make it a reality some time this year. Maybe our shiny new training co-ordinator will look into it? :D

Good to see a decent turnout from the club today. Well done to Martin and John who had a great ding dong battle with John taking a early led and Martin reeling him in around half way. Greasy on the top but generally good ground, course was as flat as possible in any field. Well organised and good day out in general. Could have done with a
pair of spikes (one for Santa) racing shoes not the cleverest option  . Nice to see a few friendly faces on the way round with Jim, David, Dena and Siobhan about. Another great win for Tom, made it look easy but 33 minutes on land is fair going. In years to come will be fantastic to look back on his haul of senior medals.

The vets is on in January (over 35s for the last time moving to 40 plus next year) - well worth giving it a go, Billy Harpur slogged it out today and showed everyone what it's about.
